Everyone plans the truck. Almost nobody plans the paperwork, and that is what turns a six-hour move into a two-day one. Here is the sequence that works in Dubai.
Start with the move-out NOC from your current building. Most towers will not release the service lift without it, and management usually needs two to three working days. Request it the moment your new tenancy contract is signed.
Next is Ejari and DEWA. Register the new tenancy first, because the DEWA connection request needs the Ejari number. Book the DEWA activation for the day before your move so you have air conditioning and lighting while the crew is unloading.
Book the service lift in both buildings for the same window, and confirm it in writing. A confirmed morning slot at one end and an unconfirmed one at the other is the single most common cause of a delayed move.
Two days before, empty and defrost the fridge, run down the washing machine, and set aside a first-night box: bedsheets, chargers, medicine, towels, kettle. Label it clearly so it goes in last and comes out first.
On the day, walk both properties with the crew supervisor before loading and after unloading, and sign the checklist. It takes ten minutes and settles any question about condition before the truck leaves.
